Permits

Every city and local municipality is different. For some companies merely replacing an existing sign might require a permit, in another part of the country, a permit might not be required. Likewise, some signage placements may also be considered exempt in some areas. However, there are many cases where any exterior signage installation may require a long permitting process. Different city councils have different rules. In some areas, updating or replacing a sign may be exempt; however, there are local municipalities that require that any new graphic receives development approval before installation. Thankfully, your Signarama team is familiar with these needs and can assist you in acquiring any necessary approvals.

In order to avoid any unnecessary fees or penalties, we will contact your local municipality before any signage projects begin. Our team will research your local ordinances and create the necessary detailed plans and images required for the application process (fee applies).  All projects that require a permit can not start until we receive approval from your local municipality.

However, if your business is within a shopping center, the rules may be a little different. In this case, you are a tenant and need to adhere to the requirements put in place by your management company along with the municipalities ordinances. Signarama can help you through this process, we will obtain the rules and requirements of the shopping center or office building and obtain permit approvals from your landlord and the municipality. By allowing us to help, we can ensure your signage both meets your expectations and the standards set forth by the management company and the municipality. It is our mission to streamline the process of promoting your business, while following the guidelines in place.
